No transparency

There is no requirement for ski operators in Colorado to disclose safety policies, procedures, and practices (safety plans).

Not even the U.S. Ski Patrol has access to statewide accident disclosure to identify opportunities to improve safety.

As the Summit Daily reported, “Unlike the automobile industry, or to a lesser degree theme and water parks, there are no specific requirements for the reporting of injuries and accidents at the nation’s ski areas.”

No accountability

Consumers waive liability when buying a lift ticket but can access no public information about accidents or safety plans where they ski or ride.
